Hero Companion

a free, offline sidekick for City of Heroes: Homecoming — build planning, leveling, and play intel from the game's own data

Hero Companion — the full app

Design and optimize builds from a first-principles model of the game's combat math, level 1–50 with a per-step walkthrough, plan respecs with a working checklist, and turn your play sessions into insight. A guided tour walks every part of the app on a drawn example screen. Both downloads are code-signed.

What it does on your machine, before you download it: the current release (0.12.31) opens in its own window, and closing the window closes the app — nothing keeps running in the background unless you turn on "Start with Windows" yourself. It never reads your game files until you turn the Play Log on yourself, and it never uploads anything. Sharing to the Pulse Boards is a separate opt-in you are asked for once.

Companion Litealpha

Lite is not a cut-down Hero Companion. It plans no builds and optimizes nothing — it is a logger, and its whole job is turning your game's chat log into your Pulse Boards. Run it if you want the boards; run the full app if you want to build characters. Most people who want both just run the full app.

A small signed installer (per-user, Start Menu entry, clean uninstall). Captures every account with logging on, adds an optional in-game menu for one-click logging, and runs safely alongside the full app. Light blue P in your notification area.

You choose when it runs. It asks once, on first run, whether to start with Windows — never silently on, and the answer flips any time from the same menu as Quit. Say no and it only runs when you start it yourself; quit it and it is gone until you do. Everything stays on your machine — feeding the community board is a separate, reversible opt-in.

CoH Pulse Boardsalpha

Community intel for the game we actually play — server pulse, scorecards, and eventually market prices, League run pages, and supergroup standings. Right now it's a single-member alpha; every future stat will be individually opt-in and anonymous by default.
